Default RE: tranny q's help

Hey Seth
I had the same problem with my 98' Durango. I had to get the whole tranny rebuilt. It gets worse if you go up hill with this problem. My transmission guy told me that the tranny is built with an extended shaft for over-drive and thats what srews up the tranny.
Good Luck

You will need your governator actuator switches replaced. I am suprised you did not get a check engine light come on to let you know? Your description is exactly what happened to me. I have to nail it to force it to upshift. My check engine light came on. Went back to dealer and got the governor actuator switches replaced under warranty.
