The tow ratings for the 4.7 are:
3.55 axle 4x4: 4,350 lbs.
3.55 axle 4x2: 4,650 lbs.
3.92 axle 4x4: 5,650 lbs.
3.92 axle 4x2: 5,950 lbs.
Now those are calculated with an empty vehicle and 150 lbs. driver. Now if you don't weigh more then 150 lbs., or have gear or passengers then you will have to adjust your max trailer weight accordingly.
The 318 is going to be similar due to the similar power output between the 287 and 318.

Don't just look at the weight, look at the length of the trailer. It is going to throw your truck around like a rag doll. You might just bend your frame. This is not a full sized truck frame remember. I wouldn't do it at all, and surely wouldn't do it with a 5.2L.[sm=badidea.gif]
