New Durango owner
Hello all,
I am a new owner of a 2000 Durango R/T AWD.
Can someone help me with the specifics of this truck?
What kind of intake?
What kind of heads?
Things like that.
I love this truck and love the power! I want to get the most out of it but since it is the family truckster it needs to be streetable power, not drag strip power, although I love spanking the crap out of Imfarts on occasion! I know it has torque for days, but I want to increase the HP as well as the MPG as it does suck gas at $2.25 a gal! I am not interested in exterior stuff as I want to keep it a sleeper, nor a loud exhaust. I had a 77 CJ-7 with the same motor and it looked and sounded like a 6 cyl until I hit the go fast button and that is my goal with this truck. Anyone tried porting and polishing these heads yet? What were the results. Also, anyone know some cheap tricks and tips for more power?
Any imput would be greatly appreciated, especially on the specifics.
Thanks,
Tony

Tony, you really want to go fast---Here is my list. This is as forum member NOT a licensed smog tech or a Chrysler/Dodge tech.
408 Magnum short block
Alum Magnum cyl heads
M1 intake
Mopar perf headers
Mopar perf cam/lifters with alum 1.7 roller rockers
expensive-alittle but I guarantee high 12's with a 100HP shot of NOS
in a AWD truck-thats pretty fast
