Your fuel regulator might be going out. Too bad it's attached to the fuel pump.

My 99 just started doing the same thing. It has been in the shop for a week and they can not find anything wrong. I read in a different forum maybe it could be the crankshaft sensor but I am not sure. I just do not want to stall in the middle of the road again. Any ideas or solutions?

I am having the same problem with my 99 slt
took to a recommended repair place they tightened all the ground wires and told e that was it since no codes could be found
went to pick up and it shut down right in their face so they took another look
and he seemed sure it was the cranshaft position sensor and replaced it 290.00
drove almost home and it shut down they towed it back in
told me it was the ecm so i had it sent o a place in jax fl and they reman it and they put it back in got 2 blocks down the road and it stalled. the place in jax said the external drivers were probably bad and that was not part of the reman so i paid 100 for a new core and they reflashed the new core and sent to me now it wont start at all they told me it was a problem with the new ecm and the ctm not talking and i needed to check the fuse sent me a tsb
i cant find andything and i dont have any diagnostic equip
wa told here that they were crazy it dhould be an easy plug and play
HELP HELP

I'm gonna say it is your pcm. I have a 99 D that did the same thing, I let the dealer talk me into an ecm that cost me and did nothing to fix the stalling problem. They gave me quite the run around as the pcm is under warranty up to 80,000 miles and if that wasn't it then they didn't want to pay for it. let's just say being a b***h came in real handy, I made them call they zone rep, I told them if we were injured because of this they would regret it, as my husband was driving this to detroit weekly, you can't stall there or they will run you over. So that was how I got my stalling problem fixed, PCM, willing to bet on it.
