Default Transmission

I'm new to the site. I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

I have a 98 Dodge durango with 87,000 miles. I had the tranny rebuilt at 65,000. Recently I was driving, and the Trans Temperature light came on along with the o/d off light.

I checked my fluid it looked burnt. I took it to get the fluid, and filter changed. The problem dissappeared for a short period, and then returned. I took it to a Transmission shop.

They checked it, and told me they didn't see anything wrong. Am I looking at another rebuild or is it something that can be fixed easily. If anyone can assist me with any

Knowledge it would surely be appreciated.

I have pictures of my truck that i'll be posting soon. Stay tuned......

Well I doubt that you're looking at the site anymore but this info can be used by others with this problem I just had my tranny rebuilt about 4 months ago and had problems with the electronics in it ever since. The last problem I had was the same as your's minus the burnt tranny fluid but since I had only gotten it out of the shop two days earlier the fluid was still brand new. Anyway the problem ended up being a broken prong on the transmission temp sensor after hitting a bump just right it would jiggle out. It did this enough to throw my truck into a failsafe mode that I rode out to get it back in the shop. Hope this helps someone out there.
