Default 03 sxt overheating

HI Everyone this is my first post. I have read all the other posts about overheating Durangos. Mine is a bit different ...mine doesnt overheat in traffic it overheats after being at highway speed. When it got to hot i pulled over and the coolant resivour was full and the water was boiling. So after that i changed the thermostat. and once again it did it again. so i took the thermostat out so i could get it home( 2 hour drive in the desert) it was fine till i got off the freeway and then it started getting hot . I just did a flush on it and it seems to be ok. Anybody have any other advice or tips ..and i am gonna pressure wash the radiator and the a/c cooler thing. thanks

I saaw a previous post where someone gave the suggestion of changing the hoses. Once they get old and weak they may collapse under negative pressure. you might want to go with that. It would be a cheap fix and even if it doesn't work you won't have to worry about hoses for a while.

Sounds like a clutch fan, or a blocked radiator. Remove any objects that could be plugging up the fins on your radiator.
Also a water pump going out would do that.
