Blower motor & resistor block help for a 99 Durango
I need some help. I believe the Blower motor and or resitor block went bad on my front a/c blower. First, where is the resistor block located on the 99 Durango, and second has anybody replaced the blower and resistor? If any body can give me a "How to do it" description I would be greatfull. All the fuses and relays checked out good. Please help.

If you were laying on your back on the passenger side floor matt, with your head under the dash. Right in front of your face is the blower motor, 6-8" towards the center of the truck is a wire bundle plugged into what looks like an air duct. This is plugged into the resistor block. Two 8mm screws/bolts and it comes out.

Did you ever find the blower and resistor block on your 99'? I have a 2000 and have read all the forums and looked at all the pictures on-line regarding the placement of the resistor block but I still can't locate it on my 2000. Everything I have read has been for 2001's and up. Is there a differnce in location between the early and later models or am I just blind idiot?
2000 and earlier models might have a different placement for the resistor blocks if they even use them at all???? So far in my lifetime of having a Durango, I have never seen a 98-00 model having a resistor pack blow out? So I have to just assume they do not use resistor blocks or these blocks are much more reliable??
I already changed out alot of resister blocks for all the 01-03 models for some of my Durango buddies.
I went to to check to see if there is a resistor block underneath my A/C already on the passenger side and did not see anything resembling a resistor block.
Another reason that came to my mind, the 2001-2003 models have a complete redesign of their dash and A/C components.
I do however wish there is a way to make the A/C and venting systems have at least twice more airflow than what it has now. My Durango cools with the A/C but I have to leave it on the 2nd or 3rd speed setting to maintain cabin temperature. Most other vehicles can blow the same amount of air at one or two speed settings lower, especially the import vehicles. They can blow some serious air. Maybe there is a performance replacement fan motor that turns faster rpm's than OEM? Where to look.

Solved at last! Yes I found the resistor block and it is not where member Mean green said it was. Apparently early models have it under the hood recessed on the fire wall. You have to pull off the wiper arms and remove the plastic cowling. It is mounted in a recessed area below the the right side wiper. There are two 7mm bolts holding it on. A little tricky to get at.
Problem was not the resistor, it was the blower motor. It was a big job. Had to remove the entire dash. The blower is encased behind the glove box. It took me all day to figure it out. Its working fine now

Sorry about that wrong info man at least my suggestion didn't suggest pulling the engine.
Thanks for letting us know where the resistor block was on our 98-00 D's. Glad to hear you got your problem fixed though.
