Default my 1999 durango

i have 1999 durango with some problems 1) us when driving down da road the truck quits moving but the rpms are high you have to take it out of gear then put it back and it will move 2) is when in 4h it makes a whining noise when your in drive or reverse plzzz help ........

1. Sounds like your trans is coming out of lock up with the motor. Check the fluid level. Remember you have to check it hot and in neutral. Also replace your trans filter and fluid quickly if you haven't already.

2. The sound you are hearing is coming from the transfer case. Do a fluid change.

Sounds like the last shop you took it to might have put the wrong fluid in it. It takes ATF+III only on that year in both trans and transfer case.

Hydra I've heard about whining from the rear diff as well am I wrong about that? I gave advice about the diff on the general durango area or w/e it's called to this guy.

this noise can be coming from the factory lsd if that fluid it not changed every 30,000 it will destroy the lsd thus making alot of chatter
