Default Finally got my truck!

Got my truck back yesterday and all I can say is DAMN![sm=drooldude.gif][sm=happy046.gif]

I mean, I'm in LOVE![sm=loveeyes.gif]

Now my truck runs at 2000RPM's @ 65 MPH. It dropped 200 RPM. All I can say is sweet. Asked why and the shop told me: (because the damn thing is working right)

$3,000.00 ouch that sucks I got mine rebuilt at AAMCO for like $1,800.00 but as long as they did the job right I guess it's worth it. I am actually running at 1,850 rpms at 65 and 2,100 at 75 that's the way it was when I got it. After my rebuild it was up to 2,400 at 75 needless to say they got that fixed fast I told them I'm already spending too much money on gas to have it running higher RPM's like that. You're definitely in the zone you wanna be in now. Good luck with those A-Holes in getting your money back I would suggest getting a lawyer to give them a call I bet they'll reconsider without even going to court...

Ya I'm going back over to the shop today and see if they want to pay for it or weather I got to take it to court. But ha, I talked the old lady into it. I got the job right though.

Congrads! With 3:92 gears, that sounds about right for your D. I am running 2000 RPM's at 65 also. Would love to see that at 70 tho! I just hope you get something back from that first company that wasted your tranny.

Remember Jpondo,

speed to rpm ratio is all mechanical and the relationship is affected only be the axle and transmission gears. These are the only two areas that will change the relationship of your speedo and rpm ratio. Changing the gears on either side will change the relationship of the speedo and rpm ratio.

Tire sizes does not affect the relationship of the speedo and rpm ratio as the tire sizing affects both sides equally.

Example,

We will use OEM tire sizing as a base relationship.

OEM tire size - 65 mph running 2000 rpm's. Actual speed is 65 mph.

larger tire size - 65 mph running 2000 rpm's but actual speed may be 70 mph.

smaller tire size - 65 mph running 2000 rpm's but actual speed may be 60 mph.

This is why when changing to larger or smaller tire, the speedometer must be recalibrated to the new tire size.
