Well my hitch is off of ebay it's the hidden hitch. I still have to buy a wiring harness and get it installed. Do you guys know if it's plug and play or will I need it to be wired into my harness? Also Jp I'm sure I'll be going through there. I am from AZ and went through there back when I was 18. I tried to buy some cigarettes and couldn't because you can't smoke until you're 19. [:'(]

I got my build sheet from dodge and was reading it and got all pumped up with the towing options--power steering cooler--aux trans cooler--heavy duty rad cooler and then got a big let down geraing is 3.55. I don't know how it is going to pull now[:@]. I thought the slt plus was better than that.

Yeah I just checked my sticker today and I have the 3.55 gearing as well. If you are at 2100 rpms at 65 then I can't see how it would be the 3.55. I'm at 1800 rpms going 65... Did you buy your D used? If so your gears may have been upgraded. Does aanyone know what you can pull with this gear ratio?

Just thought I'd add this (from the owner's manual):

5.9L --> 10500lbs. GCWR, 5600lbs. max trailer weight (includes 150lbs. allowance for driver) with 3.55 axle ratio & 12200lbs. GCWR, 7300lbs. (blah, blah, etc...) with 3.92 ratio

The 4.7L is 9200/4400 w/ 3.55 & 10500/5700 with 3.92 ratio (these are all for 4x4 models)

I have the 4.7, with 3.55 gears, and pull my 3,000lb boat easy. I have the factory tow package. Kensai is right on about the towing capacities... What I'd like to get is the Fastman trans Valve Body to give my trans a more solid performance..... sigh... some day.

I got that custom valve body but from a different builder. Same thing thou. I also had a oversized torque converter put in too. Of course all you guys know I like the best. I called the fast man before I did mine and got the notes. The builder of mine does the same thing. Installed @ $2992.76 thou.

I trust the person that did mine. He has done a lot of work for my friends and they have never been let down. I know of a full sized Chev Blazer with the 350 motor that has over 300K on the trany and towed 5000K all the time with it and still runs like a champ. Like I say he does awesome work but you pay for it![&:]

so, how about a 2000 2WD SLT with the 5.2? unsure about the gearing, there is a class III hitch on it but I need to take a closer look to see if it has the towing package or not.
