Hi gang !

Can I make some smoke shows with my AWD D if I remove the front shaft ?

I have seen on a forum that it will work if I put the selector on 4 hi lock. Wil it work even if I have a LSD rear axle ????? And , will this kind of action be damageable for my D ?

well of course you could damage the tranny and I wouldn't recommend disconnecting anythiong just to burn up your tires, I'm sure that is a possibility though... The LSD will propably keep you from burning both but idk.

 

If your just looking for a nice pic why not just get one in the dirt, mud or rock crawling. Don't disconect your driveline in order just to get a pic. Your driveline is balanced and should be kept in the same place.

 

If you truly want to permanently disconnect the front shaft when you do not want to use it, you should change out the full time transfer case with a part time transfer case. That way, you can drive all you want in 2WD mode while leaving the front shaft connected.
