Default Door Panel Problem

The drivers door panel is pulling away from the door. I think
it is from a speaker install that was done a few months ago.

Anyone have any info/expierence on how to remove and re-install the
door panel on a 2k R/T ?

Thanks

Default RE: Door Panel Problem

The driver's door panel have 5 phillips screws. You remove the 5 screws, then slowly and carefully use a flat screwdriver and separate the door trim from the metal door starting from the bottom. Then you slowly lift the entire panel straight up and then carefully pull the panel towards you while carefully separating the door latch.

Do a search on this forum for speaker installation. There is a link posted on how to replace a speaker on the durango and that link had pictures showing you the screw locations and trim removal. If I remember it right, the following 5 screws are located at;

2 screws on the armrest
2 screws around the door latch
1 screw near the power mirror adjustment ****.

These 5 screws are on the drivers door, I cannot remember if the 5th screw that is in the same location where the power mirror adjustment **** exist on the front passenger or not. If the trim will not stay locked to the metal, chances are the plastic retainer clips may have broke. You can pick these retainer clips from the dealer. I don't think it cost much for these plastic clips.
