Default New owner of 2000 Durango with some questions

Hello all, I am a new owner of a 4WD 4.7L V8 2000 Dodge Durango. This is a beauty (in the eye of the beholder). Comes with all of the options like leather, towing, heated mirrors, etc. except for a sunroof. I am a volunteer firefighter and hopefully this beast will be able to get my up to the station in speed and style. I just bought it for 12K but it's got some problems that I need some advice on fixing. I took it to "AutoCritic" before I made the purchase and they check on EVERYTHING. I highly reccomend them if you're looking to buy a new car. Anyways, the front brakes (rotors and pads) need to be replaced, which a friend and I can handle on our own. The next problem he found was that the cluth fan located at the front of the engine was loose, not as in spinning, but rather shaking back and forth. Before I start tearing apart the engine, is it possible to tighten it, or does it have to be replaced? The rear right window is a little funny at times. Sometimes it will work, othertimes it won't. We (the autocritic and myself) couldn't get it to work at all, but the current owner says sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Is that a common wiring problem, or is the window motor shot? And any ideas how much $$ to fix it, if it is the motor? The only other thing I need to do to it is to replace the lightbulb for the liscense plate and one of the lightblubs on the 3rd brake light. Are those common bulbs found at someplace like autozone or NAPA, or do I have to special order them from somewhere (sorry the dumb question). Thanks for the patience of reading the long post, and thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Congrats on the purchase! The brakes are a real weak point with our rigs. New brake shoes and turning the drums would work pretty well or replacing with Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads are a great upgrade. You can get both at http://www.truckperformance.com.

Sounds like you should replace the clutch fan. I seem to remember that the dealer wanted a couple hundred bucks for it. It's not hard to do yourself and you don't have to tear into the engine or even remove the fan shroud. You'll need to pin the water pump to stop it from turning to remove and install the fan.

Can't help you on the rear window as I've had no issue with mine.

All the bulbs in the vehicle are common bulbs available at just about any auto parts store.

Hope you enjoy the new Durango!
