not starter more like solenoid not allowing power to get through to the armature

 

just wanted to let all know that I got the Durango running, had to use a big jump box but now it runs. We noticed though it now has a new noise and have yet to figure that out. Also it has a strange smell in the exhaust..acrid...no smoke..just that acid type smell. We drain the oil out, and I say the best we could as it had the consistancy of grape jelly. The oil was just replaced a week before the engine shut off. Radiator fluid still full so that didnt leak in. We flushed engine wit kero and put in new oil, twice and I havent really been running the ole girl now just have her running and sitting in drive way.

 

I have a '99 5.9L that does the same thing. Will die while running then not start for 30 minutes or so. My mechanic said the computer was ok but there was a loose power wire going to it that was replaced. CouldI be lucky enough that this was the only problem?
