Default aftermarket backup lights?

I have a 2003 Durango. At times the backup lights seem *really* insufficient. They are even visually very small. With the rear tinted windows, it's very difficult to see, if at all, in certain lighting conditions. Has anybody had any experience with any brighter aftermarket taillight assemblies or halogen bulbs?

The only thing I've found so far seems to be the Altezza-style Crystal Clear Tail Lights. But, I've not found any reviews or whether these would be any brighter.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcom to the forum.

Sylvia makes a brighter bulb. Go down to Auto Zone or checker and look at their selection. I'm sure if you can't figure it out you can ask a parts man for info.

I remember they used to make a dual light kit that goes around your trailer hitch mainly so you can see the boat or whatever you are about to hookup to. But it doubles as a great backup light as well. You can problaby use them to tell the person behind you to switch their high beam to low beam too! haha.

who used to make that trailer light setup? i really need a brighter backup light as well. if i was willing to drill holes where/how would you recommend going about it? i was considering mounting it on the rear hatch, maybe up high by that lil aerodynamic lip or something.

thanks

This is the kit I am talking about. It goes around your OEM tralier hitch! Pretty nice.
