Default exhaust fumes

2001 DURANGO 4.7 I AM GETTING A FAINT SMELL OF EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE CAB WHEN THE HEAT OR DEFROST IS ON. I DONT SMELL THE FUMES WHILE THE TRUCK IS MOVING ONLY SMELL WHEN STOPPED. I DO NOT SMELL ANY FUMES IF NOTHING IS ON (A/C HEAT DEFROST) THE SMELL OF EXHAUSTIS MOST COMMON WHEN THE DEFROSTERS ARE GOING. THE SMELL IS VERY FAINT BUT IT IS THERE .

You may have an exhaust leak near the front of the vehicle. Also, check the rubber seals that goes under the hood between the hood and where the windshield wipers are, if the rubber seal is gone, you may be pulling in air from the engine bay. And from there, you may have a exhaust leak?

Ya. I agree with ya. Do you have a different sound comming out of the exhaust by the front of the truck?
