I have a 2000 5.9 Durango SLT. When I start it up in the morning is doesn't seem to want to idle and just stalls. The check engine lite is not on. I can get it running as long as I keep the RPM's up until the engine warms up. Once warm it starts and idles fine. It started doing this once in a while but now it's happening on a more regular bases. Any idea's?

My dakota does the same if it sets for a few days without starting. What I do is I turn the key to the on position but dont crank it until about 10-20 seconds and that usually starts it up no problem. This is a common thing with a lot of vehicles. And if that dont work then like you said keep the rpms up until it starts to idle.

IAC valve dirty/sticking. yank it out and clean it... better yet, yank out the TB and clean it too. there is gunk that builds up around the opening of the IAC valve and also a small air passage that gets plugged. it's most likely not plugged but well on its way.
