Default dash and rear end

hello i have a 01 durango 4.7 4x4 68000 miles i have 2 problems first off i have the rear end clutch chatter on acceleration while making a corner i changed the oil and added the special bottle to no avail so i gues i need new clutches the dealer jus sells the whole unit for 600+ so thats not happening i found that rands ring and pinion has just the clutches for 70 thats a lot better my first question is could i just remove 1 clutch or so from each side and not have the posi anymore or is the only way to fix it gonna be replacing them i know there a pain to get back together i changed the gears in a 97 ram 1500 it took me a day to figure out how to make a tool to compress the clutches enought to get it together
also i have the typical dash peeling realy irritating for a 5 year old vehicle is there any way to fix that or change it dealer say 400+ for new dash and 10+ hours to change and replies appreciated
thanks
chris

Default RE: dash and rear end

Well I don't know about your first question but as far as the dash if you are mechanically inclined and patient it will be a 1-1 1/2 day job for you to replace the dash yourself just make sure if you do it to mark all of your electrical connections and vacuum lines. also try to keep any bolts and screws in the areas that you took them out at and if you're lucky there will only be 1 or 2 screws left when the job is done.
Oh and BTW when you do remove the dash you might as well check up on the a/c evaporator and the heater core they have a tendency to go out.
