Front Wiper Delay
My front wiper delay is acting up. When I turn the stalk to intermittent, the wipers sometimes delay and sometimes stop and other times they stop and start intermittently, but not on a regular basis. The dealer said that the entire wiper, blinker and dimmer stalk needed to be replaced to the tune of several hundred dollars. I went on another site and it could be the Central Timer Module. Could it also be the wiper motor? I had the wiper motor replaced on recall. Any help would be great. Thanks!
Just a guess, but I would look at the Central Timing Module.
If everything on the stalk is working fine, except for the delays
on the wipers, I would start with the CTM
Good Luck, and sorry I couldn't be of more help

Sometimes the Central Timing Module is inside the wiper motor. The only one I ever had to replace was on a Chevy Blazer[sm=shootshoot.gif]

On the D, the CTM is in the kick panel, depending on the year, usually the drivers side kick panel.
I'm not saying that is the problem, since a faulty CTM would cause all kinds of havoc, not just wiper issues. However, that is where it is located.

Thanks for clearing that up. I never had a problem with those before on the D. But on the 1999 Chevy Blazer[sm=shootshoot.gif] it was built into the wiper motor. It was a small chip.

On the Blazer, wasn't the gas cap inside the glove box?
J/K!
Have a great week.

That sounds like what my Durango is doing as well. I posted it a couple days ago (Very Intermittent Front Wipers). When mine is in intermittent, the wipers will sometimes stop in mid travel for a couple seconds and then continue on. They also have trouble "parking" when I turn them off. I am going to get the wiper motor recall done on it here in a couple days and go from there. I was beginning to believe that the problem was the stalk and I've been pricing them (believe it or not, the dealers have been cheaper that the parts stores...$42 vs $59). Now that the Central Timing Module (or whatever that was) has come up, I might have to rethink my options...especially if it is a cheaper part!
