Update on "Zero oil pressure"
Have an update about my issue. I had zero oil pressure on my 4.7L, '02, 150,000 miles standard Durango.
After I ran a "flush", we dropped the pan and inspected the pickup tube to find the screen more than half clogged. I do not know what it looked like before the flush unfortunately. I decided on the new pickup tube then and there. I opted for a new after market oil pickup tube (Melling) with a differently shaped oil entry and screen, than stock. I did not change the oil pump. In hindsight, I probably could have just cleaned the oil screen and went on about my business, and converted to a full synthetic, high mileage oil.
I am okay with the reasoning and rational of my choices, but hind sight is 20-20
