Default my durango to my rescue

well in the past week i had to pull 4 people out of ditches....including myself in my dakot
i was driving down a road yeserday doing about 30mph and hit a patch of ice....spun me around pretty good and backwards into a ditch.....8 people drove by, 3 stopped....the wife came out and got me and we went to get my rango with a good chain....
the durango wouldnt just pull the dakota out being the rango was sitting on ice...so i had to yank it pretty hard a couple of times and it came right out...from yanking it like i had to, i bent the hook that was on the pickups end and jammed it on there, so i threw the chain under the hood and drove home....

not that any of this matters, but i thought i would share some pics that i thought came out pretty good....too bad the wife didnt get any of the truck comming out[&:]

Not too shabby man but get rid of that chain and get yourself a good tow strap. If that chain snapped it could cause a lot of hurt whereas a strap won't.

Just get a really beefy one and you'd do ok. I'm sure there is something on one of the sponsor's sites for you.

and yeah, they dont do a very good job salting or plowing around here.....we got the snow on december 1st, and the road still looks like that

I use a recovery strap. They are the best in towing because of the rated strength. I've used chains before and I also use one. But I prefer to use the strap when doing things like that. But from being in the same position, I've needed the smacking abilities of the chains. From the pics it looks like you needed a chain anyway. Like I said I use both.

As a side note those D's can really move in snow and ice.

Yep we have the weight in the right places for that. Last winter I had a 3 series beamer with their RWD about to pass me after 28" of snow in 24 hours and I was doing 45. Needless to say right before he passed he hit some choppy snow and spun out. I'm just glad it happened before he got in front of me, the only reason I was doing that speed is because I had nowone in front of me or on the sides to worry about on a 3 lane highway and it was mostly straight at that point. This guy shouldn't have tried to go more than 35 with that thing.
