You'll be better off keeping the 4.7. you will have to change everything. Do a search on engine swap.

well that what I expected, main thing I wanted to know about was tranny. last time I looked all over creation for a used 4.7 and when I did find one it cost me $2200. when all said and done. I have seen used 5.2 and 5.9 for sale for $700 and more if I needed the wiring and computer that why I was askin. thanksjust trying to learn more about this so I can decide. and of course I still owe on the junker. lol so if i can do it with other than the 4.7 I would like to find out. kinda burned on the 4.7,

had overheating problem with the first engine. replaced waterpump and radiator ran good for a few thousand miles, then overheated again and then would not start at all. pulled plugs found water in 2,4,6 cylinders, pulled heads off found hole burnt in 2 cylinder, looked like someone took a blow torch and blew a hole in the piston top, installed a used motor cost about $1500 for a used, drove it for about 10,000 miles and started missing really bad. found water and oil in the #2 cylinder pulled heads found hole agian in same cylinder and looked just like old motor. that is where I am now. I have called some of the local salvage again for engines no one has one in stock, one place can get me one in two days $1250. just dont know if I want to spend the money for a 4.7 or find out what other options I have.
