'03 D Lumbar support
Hey gang,
Looking for any suggestions on repairing the lumbar support for the driver's seat in the '03 Durango RT with the 5.9L. While driving, felt a pop and the support completely disappeared, now the adjustment wheel spins freely to either stop; I usually have it fully deployed. The lumbar and backrest adjustment mechansim are manual, the rest is electrical;it isalso heated with leather uphostlery. I hope to dig into it next weekend and am looking to see what is needed in the repair andif warranty covers this type of failure.
Thanks in advance.

This is the mechanismas viewed from the rear of the seat back:
Aplastic lumbar support plate affixed to the seat back frame adjusted by a cable-driven controller. Rotating the controller wheel applies tension from the originating end of the cable, causing the support plate to flex horizontallyin a U-shaped manner protruding the bottom of the U forward into the lumbar region of the seated driver. The cable is affixed to the opposing wings and spans the open end of the U. The cable terminus is comprised of a fixation cylinder mounted to locking braces at the left wing of the support plate.
The plastic locking brace holding the cable terminusfailed, loosing the cable.
Remove seat from cabin, open seat back cavity, unsnap support plate from seat frame (harder to reset than remove!!) and remount fixation cylinder.
Ifabricated anH-shaped piece of tinwith all four legs folded down 90 degrees (resembling a table). Placing the cross-pieceof the H (or table-top)over the fixation cylinder in the plastic locking brace, I forced the legs of the H into recesses in the brace and secured using a plastic zip-tie.
Really, the hardest part was breaking the loc-tite on the seat belt bolt and resetting the support plate on the seat back frame.
