HELP NEEDED 5.9 ltr runs like crap
So after all the other things, they are still changing out parts. LOL
Get a usable battery already. Gawd! Oh yea... find a different service center too. That one sucks.

360D:
Glad to hear you made some progess on things, but I am kind of confused. What kind of warranty did you have that would cover wires, plugs and the cap. Every warranty I am aware of these days (other than the basic bumper to bumper on a new vehicle) classifies those as wear items and does not cover them. It also seems strange that a warranty that would cover those would not cover your PCM and 02 sensor.
Maybe you can get some reimbursement if that is the case. Not to beat a dead goat (my version of the horse), but if your battery is original, or over 4 years old in any case I would replace it just on principle. That way you know you are good to go there for another 4-5 years and should not have to worry when the morning or moment will strike that you hit the key and get just a click. The last three batteries I have replaced havegone just like that. No sign other than maybe a slow crank or two, then nothing.
I bet the cap and wires were original, and it was time for them anyway.

Ditto.
Remote diagnostics are tough enough. Hitting a moving target on diagnostics, even tougher.
Someone is getting their chain pulled here. No warranty on earth is going to cover consumables on a used vehicle. Things just don't see to add up. 360, I am not calling you out. What I think is the dealer is doing is chasing their own tail or they are saying one thing and you are hearing another.
In the end, try to get some support (like us) before hand so you can be empowered when you approach the dealer. They want your money, that's it. Even at the sacrifice of you as a client. They already have your money in this case so you are going to get less and less out of them as this goes on.
Good luck!

The cap, plugs & rotor weren't covered by the warranty, but I think the've run out of ideas & didn't want to charge me, the first time I went to pick up the vehicle after they put the pcm in & it still ran like crap I gave them hell, they are trying anything to get me & my Durango out of there, I think they knew if they told me they were going to charge me for those partsmy foot would be up someone's a$$ by the time I left. They called me today, it runs fine but still stalling out, they think it's a short somewhere & are trying to find it, they aren't charging me for anything which is good, cause I don't intend to pay anything else, but leads me to believe they know they made a mistake & are trying to get it corrected.Right nowI just want to get it fixed.
Dealer called today, said they ordered another (new pcm) should be here tomorrow. They said they had 4 techs look at it & that's what they came up with. My question is, it's a 2000 & in 01 the pcm was reprogrammed, now it's been replaced, then the new one was bad. The pcm's on these must be total ****.
Again, find a new service center. They don't sound very competent at all.
Oh yea, after this is all said and done, let us know when the new battery fixes everything.
IndyD <--- 2000 D, same PCM for 171,000+ miles. SuperChips flashed in '05. The D is still as strong as an Ox.

Got it back today runs good seems to be fixed, the first pcm had an internal failure, put in the new pcm & a new iac motor. Everything seems to be fine now. Thanks for all the help.
