Default exhaust too lound for cabin?

I am pretty sure this might have already been dealt with, but when searching for the topic, there are too many results to sort though. I have an 03 Durango and was wondering if anyone had thoughts about their exhaust being too loud for the interior of their durango? I was going toput a flowmaster on it, but the muffler shop told me that most people bring it back to take it off because it is too loud, even the 70 series. Has anyone had this problem. Also, he was only going to put on a new muffler, no new pipes. I was also wondering if Borla would have a quieter sound at cruising speeds (55-80). Also, what about magnaflow? Is it a good brand? I want something that will be heard, but I also want to listen tomy radio and have conversations when I go on road trips. One more question, does anyone have a true dual set up, with two mufflers? Is there room? Thanks for all your help.

Ive got straight pipes on my truck. And inside the truck its not that loud. i have the SLT with the third row seating so there may be some kind of extra insulaion or somthing but even with straight pipes its not that loud in side... out side its sooo loud.

I just got a fm40 yesterday and I don't think it's too loud inside at all and it sounds great outside.

Flowmaster Series 50 SUV (Not the Series 50 Delta). That is the way I'd go and just happens to be both what I have and what is recomended by Flowmaster for the Durango.

The wive agrees with the SUV sound while the Delta was simply to loud inside for comfort full time. The 40 will be louder yet again. Okay if you are 25 years old and free wheelin' not so okay as a business owner at 40 years old like me LOL

I have a magnaflow on mine and I love it. Deep mellow rumble at idle and cruising, but when you get on it you know it!

Heyjalapeenoz, this is flowmaster thread! Don't you ruin it with your magnaflow talk. No need for that here. We'd appreciate it if you took your magnaflow comments else where.

just jks jalapeenoz, sorry to rag on you.

Hi folks

I have a 2000 R/T 5.9 with a Walker Dynomax Ultra Flow , down the Highway at 55-80 it s just a bit louder than oem Super Turbo , but less anoying, because the sound is much richer.... At wide open throttle ...it sounds sooooo great!!!! Feel like you re at the racetrack lol...

I got my wife in the D yesterday and asked her if the exhaust bothered her at all and she thought it sounded stock inside. Not very observant on her part but I don't care because she isn't whining (even if she did she's hardly ever in my truck so she could deal with it).
