Default drivers side mirror

does anyone know how to get the glass out of the manual mirror casings on these trucks? my dakota has a broken glass and i need to get it out to replace it, but dont know how and know that it is the same as the manual mirrors on your trucks, and im having trouble getting a good response from elsewhere, so any ideas to get it out, i DO NOT want to replace the plastic casing that the mirror is in, just the glass

I would just take a small hammer to the mirror and break it out then slide the new mirror into place. Just don't break the plastic that the mirror is seated in.

The mirror is held in with screws, there is a foam gasket that is glued I believe. Be careful to not bust it up too bad.

Yep the mirror is glued to the plasticand the plastic is screwed on. Just be easy with the hammer (A 1 or 2 ouncer would be sufficient).

well thanks, turns out i dont need to pull it out, the replacement peice would have fit right over the existing peice, but i decided not to guy it because i need a blind spot mirror anyway, and it happened to fit in pretty well right over the crack, so now you cannot see the crack, unless you know it was there, which is pretty sweet, saved me 16 $$ + tax US, but i will keep that in mind if i ever break another mirror (or this one again lol)
