my durango should be faster than that with a 360 i think.

I gotcha on that. I don't know if you will be able to get up to speed without the boost as fast as you did with the 318 but it may be close. I looked through your album you've got some great pics. Where you from?
Oh and to keep it on topic you may want to try buying an upgraded pcmI imagine the people who do the B&G flash Have PCM's for sale...

Jeep XLC:
I believe that all of the 5.2/5.9 motors had plug wires and a distributor. It is the newer tech 4.7 motor that uses coil on plug ignition.
If all of the harness connectors hooked back up to your new motor, that it is good thing. However, from year to year they sometimes change levels/values of the circuits, and if your replacement computer does not see values/levels it is designed for you will have problems. I know that is not what you wanted to hear, but pretty much the case.
I would think that if you could install the original (or new versions) of the sensors your factory motor came with, that would give you a good shot at having things work. Doing this "should" allow your factor PCm to at least run the motor. However, since it was designed for the 5.2, you may not realize max performance from the xtra cubic inches. This IMO is one of the few downsides to having everything computerized these days.
Unlike years back when you could swap out a Ford 302 for a 351 or a GM 305/307 for a 350 and have an immediate improvement.

i'm mostly just seeing if anyone has any personal experience in this matter to see if using the 360 ecm instead of the 318 ecm is going to bring the improvement that i think it will...
If you find a replacment PCM, try to stay with the same year model that matches the year make for your durango. Example: 1999 5.9 PCM may not be 100 percent compatiblefor a 2000 Durango due to possible minor changes from engine sensors, etc. also, 2001-2003 have 2nd generation interiors so I would think the PCM will be different for those also.
yeah that's the problem i'v been having. i can't use anything before 99 because the programming language is different and in 2001 there were slight design changes. so i HAVE to find a 2000 computer which seems to be difficult at the moment. to make matters worse... the computer just realized that i have a 5.9 and is giving me o2 sensor errors out the wazoo. cause it's running lean. sigh...
