I actually talked to the deal who sold me the car and he agreed to fix it for free since the light had been disconnected. Come to find out, the water pump locked up, causing the timing belt to get so hot that it broke. He replaced the timing belt, water pump and plugs. They did a compression check on all cylinders to make sure that nothing got screwed up and all is good and car is back on the road.
