Default 96 Intrepid Keyless Entry

Hey everyone. I've asked around about this and found very little help so far. I hope someone here can help me. According to a dealer, my Intrepid didn't come with keyless entry. I was wondering how easy it is to add an OEM system. I know how to get the remote easily enough. I remember reading something about a keyless entry module, I'm assuming that's required for this. And might I have to swap BCMs to make it work properly? I'd appreciate any guidance on how to make this work.

I noticed that the keyless entry module is just below the windshield under the dash cover. It plugs in just right of the center tweeter. I noticed this while taking junkyard cars apart. Thats about all I can help you with. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if there is a place to easily plug in the keyless entry module, or if I would have to rig up something myself? I'm just looking to get as much info as possible before I start this project.

The plug is right there. All you have to do is pry up the dash cover with a screw driver or similiar object. I don't know if this is just a plug and play job. Do your homework first. The money you will probably spend on this will probably equal the price of the new alarm if you install it yourself. At least then you will have remote start, an alarm pager and some other nice features along with keyless entry.
