Default Tip for a wheel bearing seized on CV shaft

I just completed the rather unpleasant experience of replacing the front wheel bearing on my 95 Intrepid. What was supposed to be a 15 minute job turned into.... I'm embarrassed to say how long. The bearing/hub was seized to the CV shaft.

What finally worked (for me):
-Spin the axle nut off TO the end of the shaft. Leave the nut on to protect the threads. Mine took a 33mm socket and a LOT of torque by with a breaker bar to loosen.
-Empty a LOT of WD40 into the splines. I don't know if this helped, but it didn't hurt.
-Use a drum puller or large pulley puller. There is a center divot in the shaft the puller screw seats nicely in. Tighten the puller as tight as you can, but the puller WILL break (trust me). I would estimate 40ftlbs. I used a 6" wrench as tight as I could.
- The puller applies force only and is not intended to remove the bearing if it's seized.
- a 3lbs sledge would be good, but i used a 16oz ball peen hammer. Smack the hell outa the back face of the lug plate. Rotate the plate and whack it again.

This is the ONLY thing (I did not try heat) that worked for me.

Wow, what a job!
