I have a 97 intrepid that I bought as an abandoned car. the rack and pinion was loose due to bad bushings but ran solid. got the steering fixed. but in the first 3 months of driving it with out warning it will hesitate like it is down shifting all by itself and one time even shut the motor down but it restarted with no problems and hadn't done it again for almost 6 months. Last weekend with out so much as a pop it just shut down, all power off going around a corner. the power came on just as quickly but now it won't start at all. battery and alt are new. can anyone point me in a direction to check. I don't have a code reader but the check engine light never came on since i bought it a year ago. HELP
