Default problem fuel line

My car is a 96 Neon 2dr SOHC automatic.

I have a question for anyone who may have encountered this. I have developed a hole in a fuel line just under the front passenger seat. I was told that the fuel line pressure is too great to allow me to fix it by putting a piece of rubber hose in its place. I was told I would have to replace the entire fuel line, or put a pressure fitting on it.

Anyone have any experience with this? I would like to know before I put a rubber hose on it and have it blow off on me or develop a leak.

Go to a junkyard and pull the line you need and swap it on.
