96' Neon wont start up! help
Ok, my 96 neon wont start up. It's not the engine i had a new one put in not 2 long ago. What happens is, I go to start the car and it starts up but dies right away. It had been running fine until i went to start it the other morning. I changed the spark plugs because i was told that they could be the problem but it still wont stay started. Please help!

Have a tach? Able to tell us what RPMs your getting before it dies? Does it rev adn then die? Does it bog down and die? Go back and forth? It could be a variety of things from a sensor to your ECU... The two places I woudl start woudl be your TPS and your ECU... at this point, Iw oudl lean more toward the ECU

OK, me an my dad were looking at it and when the car is started or attempted to start there are two wires right next to each other and the left one goes loose when it attempts to start (included a picture). We are not sure what this wire is or does or how to fix it but once we moved it around it stayed tight once or twice and the car started fine, but as soon as it goes loose it wont start right. These two wires are to the left of the battery, and i also included a picture of what these wires connect to.

Those "wires" would be your throttle cable and your cruise control cable. When you pull on these you say that it stays running? In that case, you might want to go to the junk yard and pick up a throttle position sensor and replace yours, see if that clears up the problem.

Try going in the car, starting it up and putting a little pressure on the pedal.. maybe enough to move it 1/4 an inch.. dont pump it or anything, just start it and push it just enough to move it a little.. that should resemble you putting a little tension on those cables.. Its sounding like the throttle position sensor to me, though
