Not really, it just depends on how many mods you have. Now dazzel saying he changes them every 3 thousand miles, he has a big turbo and he drags the car so it would be allot of wear and tear on them. If you just use it as a daily driver, get some good NGK's or bosch supers to put in it and change them every 20000-40000 miles and you should be good to go. Good luck!!

72000 is time to change them, I would go with some NGK's, they are a bit more expensive than some but allot of the guys on here like them, if price is a problem for you, I really like bosch supers. They are only like 1.20 a peice and work pretty good, just dont get any platnum (sp?) plugs, I dont know if you are aware but they will burn white and make your car run like s$%#. There is a thread I belive at the top box on 1st gen on why you shouldnt, good luck!!

Stick with the stock Champion copper plugs and yes it is time to change them out for you. You may notice the car to be a bit peppier and better gas mileage.

Use a spark plug 5/8" socket. They have a protective sleeve inside the socket to prevent damage to the plug when installing.

Is your valve cover stock? Do you have the raised letters on it?
