So I finally bought a underdrive and went to install it today. Here is the problem my power steering pump needs and V belt and the grooves in the pulley are for a regular faltbelt. [:@]So does this mean that I need a different underdrive pulley or a new pulley for my power steering pump? If so where can i get one?

Im wondering where you got the pulley from.? The pulley is supposed to be made for a v-belt, to match the car.I would be asking for a refund! I have not heard of any power steering pumps on a neon that are flat....
On my neon I have'nt installed the power steering belt yet.I like the extra arm workout I get, and I can also feel the car more around turns, how hard Im actually pushing it kinda thing.Good luck, maybe someone knows a way to put a flat pulley on ps pump..I dont.

 

ive never heard of a serpintine style ps belt on a 1st gen neon.....this pulley doesnt happen to be from an eclipse does it????

 

naw man I bought one for a neon I know I was asking bout it before but yea Im pretty pissed about this whole situation! Hey spud did the megan one that you bought come with a v belt slot? Thats the one that i wanted to buy but I couldn't find one any where the one that i bought was the only one on ebay besides the unorthodox. A mechanic at my work told me that I could problly run a serpetine style belt that only has three slots in it and it should work but I dont know if I want to try that. Do the 2nd gen neons run a flat belt for power steering? What other brand pulleys come with the v belt slot that are still available

 

Lets get a picture of it so we can see it.

 

2nd gen neons have a serp. belt for the power steering as far as i know, i came across that when i bought mine.
i have an extra one w/ V belt for PS for sale if anyone is interested
