The valve body can be thought of as the "brains" of an automatic transmission so to speak. It routes the fluid from the pump through the various passages to apply pressure on the drums (and therefore the clutches) in response to the gear selected, either through moving the shifter, or based on vehicle/engine speed). By changing the valve body to a recalibrated one, such as the one you point out from Modern, various factors can be changed including fluid pressure, the rate at which shifts will take place, etc.

thanx big time man ill probly order one of these on friday when i get payed ... i knew flippin burgers would pay off ... any idea on performance style gains ? and .. where does it get installed .. das have you ever had one of these or do u kno a link on a how to install one?
