Was wondering what would cause and error code 42. car will not start. relays are good fuse is good. driving me nuts

 

Code 42 - 42 Fuel pump relay control ckt, Auto shutdown relay control ckt, No ASD relay output voltage at PCM, Fuel level sending unit volts out of range, Fuel level unit No change over miles

How do you know the relays are good? Did you do the horn relay swap test? Can you get it scanned for the "P" code?

 

going toget it scannedtomorrow morning. yeah did the horn swap with both relays they both work.

 

LOL, OMFG..... This code took me a couple months to figure out. Turns out my fuel pumps sending unit wasn't making contact (gas gage never worked). If you pull out your fuel pump, which is a pain in the ****in' *** for me since im not a mechanic, but turns out my floats sending unit wasn't making contact. Just bent the contact back and ohmed it out with my ohm-meter between the two center contacts for about 1Kohms full and 60ohms empty. Put it back in my fuel tank and the code went away and my gas gage started working as well.
