Well mine is a 97 and I have it. So I guess Im just gonna break off the top part and leave the bottom.

maybe you should go to a junk yard and find a 95,98, or 99 center console.....then you wont have that chunk but will have it secure

That piece of aluminum shouldn't weigh more than a good heathy dump.
Hit the can before you get in the car.

PS you need that to hold the console in place.

Yes I know this now. I was just trying to figure if there was anyway to just remove the upper section of it.

just cut it off no worried and if anything goes wrong use duct tape its wonderful
