Well mine is a 97 and I have it. So I guess Im just gonna break off the top part and leave the bottom.

maybe you should go to a junk yard and find a 95,98, or 99 center console.....then you wont have that chunk but will have it secure

just cut it off no worried and if anything goes wrong use duct tape its wonderful
