Default Intermittent brake drag

On my '95 Highline, both of my front brakes drag... sometimes. I don't have ABS, so I'm thinking that it has to be the individual calipers. Ideally, I'd like to do an overhaul of both calipers to save $. But will an overhaul work? What kind of inspection/test could I do to verify one way or the other that a simple overhaul would work?

The left front piston boot is done for, and it drags less frequently than the right front does. I'm so tired of the burning brakes smell

Thanks in advance.

An overhaul should help, but why not just get some good used ones and save the time.

go to an auto store and just get new calipers. they arn't that much and they are a core item. if your pads are still good but glazed just take some sand paper to them to remove the shine then you should be fine.

I've noticed that Neon calipers are somewhat salty compared to my Diplomat anchors. For the price of new pads, why not replace them while you are at it. Although the new lining is asbestos free (mostly) the dust isn't good for your lungs. New rotors are fairly cheap too. I'm a firm believer of doing the job once and being done with it. While things are apart clean up the hub surface and apply a thin coat of anti-size compound, makes servicing the rotor easier.
