remember the car is a unibody and not a full frame
it just seems like its more work then its worth
and remember the car will have to be inspected before it can have a rebuilt title so everything has to be perfect...
i would rather strip the car, sell all the parts.....save an extra $2000-$3000 and buy a running driving srt4...then you would still probally be driving a new one before this one gets drivable......
dont get mad or anything, these are just my opinions......and to most people they mean nothing

well I think ya got a good deal for the car, but its gonna cost a hell of alot to fix. My OPINION is that you should get everything out of the car that you can and swap that engine into the 1st gen ![Big Grin](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
and then sell whatever you have left. Then I bet you would be very very happy and faster too, since the 1st gen is lighter. But do what you want and keep us updated

dont let anyone on here....including myself....make you feel any different about this car then you do....as long as you are happy with it then thats all that counts....good luck on the car and i hope its worth it...
but, when you get it and find out its worse then you think, i will give you $500-$600 for the front seats

Iam happy and cant wait to start working on it it will be here this saturday. Im thinkin another 2,000 in parts so thats a steal for me 5,800 for a srt-4 with 34,000 on it. Ill post more detailed pics when the car gets here. I like to work on cars so thats no problem the way I see it this is going to be fun and Its what i like to do.

its gonna cost a hell of alot more then $2000 for parts[&:]
you figure:
1 maybe 2 doors
headlight
front bumper
rear bumper
rear section of exhaust
front and rear passenger side suspension
1 or 2 rims...depends if you want it to look like new
hood
passenger fender
drivers fender
turn signal lens
tail light
center console
turnsignal lens
side marker lens
possibly a radiator support
possibly a side skirt
possibly a rear metal bumper
not to mention the whole rearhalf of another neon[&:]
i am not sounding ignorant but, just out of curiosity....did you price any parts before you bid on the car???? i would think you would be looking at sumwhere in the ball park of atleast $5,000-$7,000in just parts

yeah I would say 2000 just for parts is completly wrong. I would say at how the pictures look and what I would suspect you needin, I would say in the ball park of around 6000 for just parts. But whatever you decide will be fun either way..fixing the srt up from its current state or swappin the engine in somethin else. Which IMO I think would be a better option for this.

i'm not going to be a negative nancy like the rest of these guys
but since yoru dad knows how to do bodywork that is a lot of money off of labor
you can't really find SRTs in junkyards or anything (atleast not around here)
because once they get it someone buys the whole thing and starts doing what your doing!
good luck finding another body/parts
i think what everyone should is help him instead of poke at him and save him money
like could he get another 2nd gen neon and use taht frame to save money
just go on ebay to get the fenders and stuff for cheap!
good luck man!
