well i went down to the shop that has my motor yesterday an found out my total[&:]
$1,050 and some change
just for bore and hone, replace freeze plugs, polish crank, and balance crank....also includes gaskets and bearings.....and they didnt even assemble the friggin block[:@]
i just think thats nuts......
and then it was gonnabe another $500 to get my head done....so i think im just gonna have to put my stock head back on until i feel like spending that much money....just sux that i cant use my crane cams, unless i can use them with my stock springs

so anyways i just needed to vent since this motor so far is gonna cost a total of almost $3,000[&o]...and thats just the block

 

maybe its time to call the BBB

 

no i dont want to complain too much, i just deal with it[&:]
i still owe the shop another $550 before i can take the block home so that I can assemble it

it just sux since the original quote was for $500 + gaskets and bearing.......so it was just a bit more then i thought it would be[:@]

dude that is WAY to much for that. are they crazy or sumthing..... we had 3 motors done at my local shop for less that that. y are they claiming that its so much over the quote?

i had a quote in writing, but it was a "ball park" quote
from what he told me it came out to
about $350 for the block work
about $350 for out of shop labor (polish and balance crank)
and about $350 for parts
what im wondering is, what kind of parts did he get for $350???? it was just a bare block that should of only needed bearings and a rear main seal

i dont think it owuld of bothered me as much if the block would of atleast been fully assembeled[&:]

this better be one hell of a motor for that much money

 

Yeah, I would go back and have him itemize it, have him give you proof that everything cost what it did. $350 for bearings and seals? WTF?

if i didnt give the guy $500 down alredy then i would off told him to take that block and shove it....ive got 2 more so it wouldnt of been bothered me any....but its too late now
oh well...i might be able to pick it up within a week or so anyways

 

Wtf? Thats way to much spud those parts he ordered better be made out of gold for that price. I know the last block i had done for my race quad was $328 and that was for everythingincluding p&ping the head with all new head internals michineing the crank case for the long rods and all.
