i was driving on the 405 today, on my way home from quiznoes and all of a sudden i hear this sound clickin under my hood as i stop my car. i went to go check with a friend of mines he has a sti subaru wrx and he said it sounded like my exhaust was leaking. at first i wonder what could possibly drip out because i dont see anything. then he mention it was leakin as in, leaking air which causes me to lose a lil power. he told me to go buy a torque wrench and tightend it. the thing is i have no clue how too! what is it sopose to be torque at? and where do i torque it? any information will help.

 

if it's the exhaust then you have to torque the bolts on the exhaust manifold that connect to the block and to the exhaust pipe

but i really dont see how it got lose...
hmmm...

maybe a bad gasket?

maybe the donut gasket is leaking.....
your positive its the axhaust???

 

wierd. today my uncle check my engine oil and there isnt any oil??? so we went to the nearest autozone and bought some poured it in and my car doesnt sound like a bus anymore. it sounded normal like it should so the leak is somewhere else. but i cant find it at all. it might be the gasket under the engine block but i gotta dig deeper to look into that.

 

The clicking (ticking) noise may have your your lifters starving for oil.
