hey every1... just replaced my cam seal on my SOHCand now my battery light, and service engine light are on.... the car just doesnt seem to pick up like it used to but yet is running wayyyy smoother. but yet when i get to bout 4000 rpms it doesnt wanna go much farther... what could cause those lights to go on and make the car not as fast but yet runs smoother? lol weird

 

Check to make sure the alternator belt in on properly and tensioned. Check any alternator wiring and ground straps that you may have had off. (there should be a ground strap connected to one of the rear right valve cover bolts).

What code are you getting on the service engine light?

 

dont know of any codes yet... i can barely drive the car because i just noticed that now my motor is smoking from the valve cover [:@] and leaking coolant!!! what could cause the smoking from the under the valve cover??? antifreeze being burned???

 

Where is the coolant leaking and is there coolant in the oil?

 

no coolant in the oil... but when i took my valve cover off i think i spotted some coolant under there.... and just started the car for about 5 minutes and the battery is dead.... whats going on???? lol and i cant tell for sure where coolant is leaking but it appears to be from the timing belt which is what i just ripped down to get to my cam seal so its prolly a water pump now.....
