burning oil???

Default burning oil???

Hmmm i think i might have a bit of a problem... i did the atx to the mtx swap a while back and ever sence my neon has been burning oil... like a lot... any clue y it would be doing this?

if you're leaking any oil, it could be the rear main seal back there. unless u replaced it when u did the swap.

nope not leaking just burning... i was sitting in the the drive through and it look like i was burning out...

o i did a compression test and i have 175 185 180 185 so i think thats good, right???

Not great, but pretty good. You are probably getting some blow-by from your rings. How much oil are you burning a week?

proply every 600 mile like a 3/4 quart... but in a week i put like 600 to 900 on...

Try changing the PCV valve, if it's stuck open it will suck oil into the intake under high vacuum conditions and if it's plugged or stuck shut it tends to pressurize the crankcase and push oil past the rings.

i changed the pcv valve yesterday and its smoking a little less ...
