Well, the 96 I bought off ebay is in rough shape, but to be expected from a 710 dollar car. Or should I say 610 dollar car... you see, he knocked off 100 for the price of a gauge cluster, you see, he said the cluster just quit working. hmmmm.... I remember you guys telling me about the solder issues on the circuit board. So I just nodded my head and took back $100....

It was in an accident, left front fender is full of bondo and the light bucket/housing is cracked everywhere. The driver door is also beat up a little, the metal in the latch area is weak so the latch flexes when you shut it and the catch doesn't want to close... This can be fixed.

Surprises under the hood...
Well, the "ground cable is a make shift marine cable with an alligator clip holding it onto the block. Ill need to know where the ground cable/strap is supposed to be and what it looks like, who knows it may just be disconnected. The battery had screws driven into the battery posts to hold the worn out connectors in place. Its also missing the intake tube from the big plastic intake that sits on top. It leaks some oil here and there.

Question about the tires, what size are supposed to be on this thing? it has 185 75 14's on it now. Issue being, it looks like the rear tires are hitting the rear springs, there is about 1/2 clearance. But I think they are hitting when the suspension moves up. Ill look around and see if I can find the specs, but if you can, please do.

Ken

from what ive seen 185/60/14 is average stock size. theres a few different ones , 75 series would be a bit tall...

Ok, did some more playing around this morning, I need a driver side A pilar. who ever owned it before had something land on the hood and LF fender. The driver door is original, the windshield, hood and LF fender were after market replacements. The bondo'ed the A post/pilar up pretty good. Sense the rest of the car is pretty good shape, Im going to fix the area. Does anyone have a recked gen 1 with a good front left section that the post can be cut away from?

I know someone mentioned in my other post that they knew of a good salvage yard here in michigan. I can go this route, but most salvage yard want you to buy the whole front clip of a car to get the peice you want.

Ill try to get some pics up.

yeah i got ya artic cat on the salvage yard.its on[B}Michigan Ave.[/B] in Inkster, and if i remember correctly its on the south side of Michigan ave west ofInkster Rd. there is a rickety old motel or something. its kinda easy to miss and if you do its a divided highway and will have to cross over 4 lanes to turn around its best to do it on a sat when the roads arnt so busy if you dont work sat the guy that sits In the big payloader with the Forks on it i believe his name is Bishop. go direclty to him and ask "where are the dodge neons" Hope this helps

where its bolded and says michigan ave i had ford road which is wrong MICHIGAN AVE is the correct street

do you know if they let a customer cut up their cars or would I have to let them do it? Also, some places make you buy the whole front half of a car...

Thanks.
