Default diagnosing the alternator

okay, i have come to the conclusion my alternator is the problem right now... but there are a few reasons that might be the cause...

1.) re-grounded it to a new location becuase the stock 2-sided weird bolt broke
2.) the first time i started the car after i fixed the cam seal 2 exposed wires that were moves around during the process (i didnt see or know about from previous owner) sparked and cought fire
3.) my belt is slipping half way off the crank pulley and i cant get the crank pulley to line back up properly

what is your guess on the reason the alternator isnt working????
