Hi,

I was driving along fine the weekend when my 97 neon made abang like a breaker tripping. The car then tried to start itself but was already running. I turned it off and when I hit the brake it tried to start itself. The key was not in the ignition. And it kept making a ticking noise until I disconnected the battery.

Please help!

 

Did the timing belt snap? There is an inspection cover you can take off and have a look. How many miles on the car?
