Yes it will. Are you looking to swap a complete engine or just the head and block?

Yes. You will have to swap some of your sensors onto the 98 engine and maybe splice in some wires, but yes it will work.

 

you didn't specify whether it was sohc or dohc. both will require minor wiring as 96 was different than 97-99. sohc to dohc is a little harder, but still not tough.

 

I've got a 96 neon that i am dropping a 2.4L into also. I have done some looking around the net for info and several sites said that a power steering bracket off of a pt cruiser will work for the 2.4 swap.

 

The power steering bracket from a pt is what you are going to want to use...I read it somewhere dont aske where I have no clue...

 

so 95to 96 you gonnna help me do this,, (this spring prolly) ill see were it goes from here i found a 2.4 engine for about waht i was gonna pay for the 2.0 so as far as i know i need

Modify My motor Mount
and a Dohc intake manifold? (but why wont the stock 2.4 one work??)

and the Pt Cruiser PSP (Not sure were to get it) i checked on ebay with no luck.. prolly a dealer part...
and some kind of atenater bracket am i right.

does the 2,4 have the same setup as the 2.0 will i still be able to use my atx tb and tb spacer??

and im gonna move the battery to the trunk...

1) 2.4L DOHC engine from 95-02 Chrysler Products
2) 2.0L DOHC Intake manifold
3) 2.0L DOHC exhaust manifold (stock or aftermarket)
4) 2.0L DOHC Heater hose hard pipes
5) 2.0L DOHC PCM (Stock, Mopar, or AFX)
6) 2.0L DOHC Wiring harness
7) 2.0L Crankshaft pulley (Some 2.4's will require the use of a 2.0L UDP)
8) 2.4L Motor mount adapter
9) PT Cruiser water pump output neck
10) 2nd Gen Neon fuel pressure regulator (58psi) OR 24lb. injectors (one or the other)
11) PT Cruiser alternator brackets
12) DOHC Hood
13) 2.4L Stratus motor mount
