Remove rear rotor (E-brake is NOT on)
Hey,
I am trying to remove the rotor from my neon w/ rear disk brakes. And yes the e-brake is not on however I think its sticking which is probably my whole problem to begin with. Haynes says to "remove the plug on the parking brake ajusting hole" and then to use a skrewdriver to turn the star skrew if your rotor does not seem to want to come off. My question is where is the "parking brake ajusting hole". I see a horizontal hole on the bottom on the back but all I can see is a spring. Thanks in advance. Oh and I don't want to simply hammer the rotor as I plan to keep it. I just want to take a look at the e-brake cable and such.

I have managed to get it somewhat off on the lower left side which is opposite where the e-brake hits, it seems as if, though down, the e-brake is sticking which i think is my whole problem. Any ideas on where that ajuster hole is?
It's off! but i need to ajust my e-brake as it is most certainly not releasing all the way when down, any idea how to do this? It only this one wheel, the other rear one is fine.
Well I found the little star type bolt that I turn to adjust my e-brake. It seems though that I can either get it so the wheel spins freely yet when I put up my e-brake it doesnt catch well, or the wheel sticks and when I put up my e-brake it works like normal. There is no sweet spot and I have been playing with this for an hour. Maybe its time for a garage to look at it

Not that anyone cares haha, but maybe someone searching in the future will find this useful. To fix the problem above I just went to Napa and had them turn down my rotor. Cost me $20 and took an hour but hey now my ebrake locks and unlocks correctly and my brakes (hopefully lol) do not drag anymore.
