Default 97 motor in a 95 car ???????

Can this be done and what do you have to do to achieve the goal!!

PCM, and motor. and some wiring for the sensors.

Cant you just swap the sensors from the old 95 motor and use the 95 pcm and wiring harness.

the PCM is different
and i think that 95 had it's own sensors

Yes...just swap the sensors from the old 95 motor and use the 95 pcm and wiring harness.
Its easy,,when the motor is out,,,I have done the 95 motor into a 98..Fairly easy..Good luck

you actually used the pcm?
i knew the sensors could probably be swapped somehow but wasn't 100% sure
but i thought that you couldn't use the 95 pcm


good job on that man!
thanks for proving me wrong and helping me learn my .02 for the day

Ya i used everything from the 98 just changed the motor and swapped the wiring harness to the 95 motor...basically ran the 95 engine with the 98 pcm..

95 wiring harness has the IAT/MAP sensor separated unlike the 96-99's. So you will either need to reuse your 95 intake manifold or splice the new sensor in.
